Add Save & Resume Later to Your Assessments

Save & Resume later feature improves completion rates and allows you to generate more leads with better data.

However, when quizzes and business assessments are long, respondents may need more time to complete them.

To enhance the user experience and improve completion rates, we’ve introduced a Save and Resume Later feature that allows respondents to save their progress and return later to complete the assessment.

Benefits of Save and Resume

Many business assessments delve deep into multiple aspects of a respondent’s situation.

For example you could have a Wheel of Life assessment with dimensions, or a maturity model about enterprise architecture or analytics.

In such cases, respondents appreciate that they can take a break to and perhaps think through their answers before submitting their responses.

Without a save option, they might abandon the process altogether.

The Save and Resume feature ensures:

  • Better Completion Rates – Respondents can take their time, making it more likely they’ll complete the assessment.
  • Higher Quality Responses – Instead of rushing, they can answer thoughtfully and accurately.
  • Enhanced User Experience – Providing flexibility keeps respondents engaged and increases the perceived value of the assessment.

How to Enable Save and Resume

Activating this feature is simple:

  1. Go to Settings – Navigate to the settings panel in your assessment dashboard.
  2. Select Options – Find the section for General Options.
  3. Turn On Save & Resume – Enable the toggle to allow respondents to save progress and return later.
  4. Hit “Publish” again

Note: Make sure your assessment is set to “verify email by sending a code”. This is important for security.

How It Works for Respondents

Once enabled, respondents will see a button to “Save & Resume Later“. They can thus save their session anytime and return later.

Here’s what happens when they come back:

  1. They enter their email address.
  2. They receive a verification code to confirm their identity.
  3. Upon authentication, they see all their previously entered responses prefilled.
  4. They can then review their answers, make adjustments if needed, and finish the quiz or assessment!

This feature reduces drop offs and encourages thoughtful responses. As a result, businesses can collect more reliable and accurate data.
